Soul Flower has women’s and children’s sizing options but don’t forget about the in-be-‘tweens’! Most XS or S womens sizes will work for the pre-teen frame as well!
The Imagine Ebb and Flow top in an XS worked great for Marli with plenty of room to grow. (I would equate it with a large size 10/12 in childrens but will also fit a 14/16) The bit of extra length made it perfect to top with leggings or a favorite pair of skinny jeans.
Casual but certainly not plain, this super soft organic cotton top was comfortable and breathable. And there is something about a concave hem line that makes a garment so fun to wear! As we were wandering the neighborhood looking for cool locations, I always caught Marli twirling a little bit more or jumping around just to feel the shirt sway and flow. She said it makes the shirt feel more ‘fancy’ 🙂 Fancy indeed! As more than just a t-shirt, the Imagine Ebb and Flow top could easily transition to something a bit dressier too for adults or younger. Paired with cute shorts? Sure! Topping capris? Yes! Finishing off any one of Soul Flower’s long floor skimming hippie skirts? Absolutely. And so fun to accessorize!
Clothing has become such an important aspect of the lives of children. Image is everything and it’s constantly surrounding them. As a parent, I always wondered if there would be a day that I would have to voice my opinion against clothing choices, explain that labels and designers don’t matter, say no to expensive items. So far, so good 🙂 Instead, Marli avidly thrifts for clothes with me, proudly wears secondhand and vintage items. She understands that clothing doesn’t make her who she is, but has fun letting her wardrobe reflect her personality!
She loves this Imagine shirt and has always had an eye for similar pieces. We sit down and pour through every page of the latest Soul Flower threads when the catalog arrives in the mail! The Imagine top had her attention immediately. The artwork is beautiful. The dragonfly is unique and detailed but captured so simply in the line drawing. Somehow not distracting from the mix and match lettering of the text. There are few shirts designed for her age group that say anything as positive. Spoiled Brat? Troublemaker? Diva? Hmmm…..NO! Not a proper representation of a growing young mind. Imagine? Yes please!
