From the Soul Flower Archives: This post originally introduced the buds who picked, packed and shipped orders from our former St. Paul, Minnesota warehouse. These team members are no longer with Soul Flower, but they were an important part of our story. We’re keeping their profiles as a look back at the people who helped get Soul Flower goodies from our shelves to your doorstep.
Back then, we called this group the Glue Krewe because they were the people who helped hold everything together day after day.
The crew picked and packed customer orders while helping keep the warehouse clean, organized and stocked. Like many small businesses, everybody pitched in wherever they were needed.
The people on the team changed over time as buds moved on to new adventures, but each person became part of the Soul Flower story.
Here’s a look back at a couple of the buds who were part of the Glue Krewe when this post was originally written.

Leiah When this profile was written, Leiah had recently graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Studio Art. She was working as a graphic designer while also working part-time at Soul Flower. Her creative interests included printmaking, bookmaking, drawing, photography, graphic design, sewing and collage. Outside of art, she loved pizza, blank journals, hot tea, shopping, reading and warm winter mittens. Favorite takeout food: Artichoke dip from Pizza Lucé |

Britt Britt spent her Soul Flower days picking and packing customer orders. She would sometimes add one of her own original sketches to packages before sending them on their way. Outside of work, she loved cooking big Italian dinners, walking, hiking, biking around the Minneapolis lakes, fishing, live music, dancing and road trips. She was also a fan of local artists and classic Westerns. Favorite flower: Tulips She also loved finding the kind notes customers left in the gift-message area of their orders. |
A Little Piece of Soul Flower History
And that concludes this look back at one chapter of the Soul Flower story.
It’s fun to see how much has changed over the years, from the people and products to the places where orders were packed and shipped. It’s also pretty amazing to see how much has stayed the same.
Soul Flower has always been a small business filled with creative people who love music, nature, art and doing things a little differently. We’ve always cared about the details, from creating original designs to packing an order with a little extra love.
We’re grateful for every bud who has worked with us along the way, and for every customer who has helped Soul Flower continue to grow and evolve.
