DIY Jewelry Holder Ideas Using Natural Materials

Looking for a creative and natural way to store your favorite jewelry? This simple DIY jewelry holder idea uses driftwood and natural materials to create a beautiful boho jewelry display for your space.

Rachel, our very own Soul Flower graphic artist extrodinaire, created these unique driftwood jewelry racks to organize her necklaces, bracelets, and other favorite pieces from our hippie jewelry collection. Follow the steps below to create your own natural jewelry holder that keeps your accessories easy to see and ready to wear since jewelry is often the last, little finishing touch that brings together a relaxed boho clothing look.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Start by taking a nature walk and look for interesting branches, sticks, or driftwood pieces. Pieces with natural curves and texture make the most beautiful DIY jewelry holders.

Next, visit a hardware store and pick up a few small cup hooks. Different sizes work well depending on the thickness of your branch and the jewelry you want to hang.

Look through your craft supplies or junk drawer for something to hang the branch from the wall. Leather cord, hemp cord, or sturdy twine all work well and add to the natural look.

This type of display works especially well for layered boho necklaces and longer statement pieces.

Step 2: Lay Out Your Design

Attach your cord to the ends of the branch first so you can hang it temporarily on the wall and see how it balances. Tie simple knots at first, then adjust them once you are happy with the placement.

While the branch is hanging, mark small spots where the hooks should go. You can measure evenly or simply place them where they look natural along the branch.

Use a small drill bit to make pilot holes and screw the hooks into the wood.

Step 3: Hang Your Jewelry

Now the fun part. Hang up your favorite necklaces, earrings and hippie bracelets, along with other accessories on your new jewelry rack.

A natural jewelry display makes it easier to see what you have and encourages you to wear your favorite pieces more often. It also adds a relaxed bohemian touch to your room.
