Imagining Indigo Tapestry

Imagining Indigo Tapestry

When we first moved into our apartment, the first thing I noticed was the asylum-white walls. I knew they had to go ASAP.

There is something about plain walls that just brings my mood down. Not to mention they exposed the door to our utility closet, the doorbell, and the thermostat to the entire living room! Who wants to see all that? It was like the extra-small mini skirt of living rooms...aka terrible.

So, I was obviously crying with joy when this Imagining Indigo Tapestry showed up at my door. I hung that baby on the wall and it was like happiness was suddenly radiating throughout the room. It also tied together all of the colors we already had in our space.

I absolutely love the vortex-inspired design. Hidden throughout are little elephants and peacocks surrounded by beautiful flowers. It's handmade in India using low-impact dyes and is Fair Trade, which makes me love it even more. It's lightweight enough to hang with just a few thumbtacks, making it an easy way to transform a blank wall. In my opinion, every home deserves a unique tapestry!

I also couldn't resist a little photo shoot with this beauty. In my head I pictured a windy field with the tapestry flowing through the breeze. The weather had other plans, so we improvised. It even worked beautifully as a blanket! I can't help but think how perfect it would be for a picnic. I guess we'll have to find out this spring.
