India Star Tapestry as a Curtain

India Star Tapestry as a Curtain

I had been searching for a piece of fabric, scrap material, curtain, tablecloth—anything that could hide the mess inside our entryway closet. I’ve always loved tapestries and their many uses, but I had never really considered using one as a curtain.

Then I opened my Soul Flower package and pulled out this beauty: the India Star Tapestry. I chose it somewhat randomly, but it worked better than anything I could have searched for. The fabric was heavy enough to hang smoothly and cover the closet opening without blowing around whenever someone slammed the back door. At the same time, it wasn’t bulky or difficult to push aside when we needed to get into the closet. It was also much softer than I expected.

The colors were vibrant without being overwhelming, and the intricate pattern really needed to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. It was detailed and busy, but never dizzying. On a sunny day, the window behind it illuminated the design almost like stained glass. It would make an impressive set of curtains because it was truly beautiful!

This tapestry has beautiful details and vibrant colors.

I was so happy with this piece. It just happened to fit the space perfectly, and if I ever want to use it for something else, I can simply take it down. It would create a stunning pop of color and art in a bedroom, whether placed on a bed or displayed on a wall.

I decided to use it as a curtain for my closet. I love it!

Before hanging the tapestry as a curtain, my kids and I headed out onto the trail to photograph its vibrant colors against the greenery and perfectly placed orange lilies. They always accommodate my photography requests—especially when a little bribery is involved. 🙂

This particular day, the bribe was candy—and they deserved it after the mosquito-filled five-minute sprint that our mini photo shoot became! We managed to get a few good shots before being driven away. I especially love the photo showing my daughter’s real expression between poses while her brothers drove her crazy on either side. She was such a good sport.
